He was born May 15, 1928, in New Riegel, to the late John A. and Emma (Geckle) Rumschlag. He married DeAnne (Zender) Rumschlag.
Survivors include his wife; seven children, Rebecca (Don) Miller of Tallahassee, Florida, Roy (Brenda) Rumschlag of Fostoria, Donna (Gerald) Leemaster of Fostoria, Rita (Emmet) Sheeran Jr. of Fostoria, Lois (Larry Gardner) Rumschlag of Fostoria, Regina (Anthony) McClanahan of Florence, Kentucky, and Ben Rumschlag of Fostoria; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by three grandchildren, six brothers and three sisters.
He served in the Merchant Marines and then the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
Burial will be private in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria
