Harry V. HILL, 67, 525 Madison street, this city, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the Logansport hospital where he had been a patient since last Wednesday. He had been in failing health for the past two years.
Mr. Hill came to Rochester eight years ago from Bethlehem township, Cass county. He was a former employee of the Rochester City Water Department, retiring in 1952.
A native of Cass county, he was born July 15, 1887, in Bethlehem township to Israel and Martha (GORDON) HILL. On Feb. 11, 1908, he was married to Glenn POWELL, also of Bethlehem township. For a number of years Mr. Hill engaged in farming in Cass county. He was a member of the Knighs of Pythias lodge of Fulton.
Survivors are his wife, at home; two sons, Roy and Robert D. HILL, both of Rochester; a daughter, Mrs. Wilma SNYDER of Logansport; a brother, John HILL of Fulton; a sister, Mrs. Cora BENNETT of Logansport; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and nine nieces and nephews.
Final rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. George CRANE officiating. Burial will be in the Metea Baptist cemetery.
