Clement Francis Davis, 79, of Forsyth died 7:32 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 16, 1999) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Memorial Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church of Decatur. Arrangements by Graceland-Fairlawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Davis was born on Jan. 25, 1920, in Lovington in Moultrie Co., son of Ollie H. and Luddie Wright Davis. He was a graduate of Decatur High School and attended Millikin University. He served in World War II as a staff sergeant aerial gunner with the Army Air Corps. He retired as area sales manager from Dixon Ticonderoga Co. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Church, Indianapolis, IN., attended First Presbyterian Church of Decatur and was an associate member of Evangelical Church of the Covenant, Venice, FL. Mr. Davis married Marjorie E. Peters in 1947. She preceded him in death in 1984. He married Naomi Edwards Buck in 1987.
Surviving are his wife of Forsyth, brother, Darrell E. Davis of Decatur, sons, Richard A. Davis and wife Libby of Indianapolis, IN; J. Peter Davis and wife Kim of Carmel, IN; daughter, Jo Ellen Witmer and husband Rich of Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren, sister-in-law, Ruth E. Ewing of Decatur, stepchildren, Barbara Buck Unser of St. Louis, MO; W. Michael Buck Alexandria, VA; Geoffrey E. Buck of Fishers, IN; Kay Buck Bryant and husband Ed of Evanston, seven step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donald Davis and sister, Delores Creekmur.
