Kathleen A. Godbey Shaul, 84, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2006 after a brief illness. She was a resident of Pendleton for the past 67 years.

She was born July 23, 1921 in Bemidji, MN to Walter and Ruby (Swenson) Montgomery. She is survived by four children, Monte Godbey of Greenfield, Richard Godbey (Judy), Gary Godbey (Bette), and Judy Wihebrink (Bill), all of Pendleton; grandchildren, Julie Godbey, Jeff Godbey (Amy), Ryan Godbey (Kecia), all of Greenfield, Joe Godbey of Nineveh, Angie Jones (Brian) of New Castle, Rhonda Thomas (Chris), Scott Godbey (Andrea), Mary Harvey (John), Blaine Godbey (Mendi), Amy Wihebrink, all of Pendleton, Brandon Godbey (Jen) of Topika, Jill Wihebrink of Anderson, and Kara Juteau (Moe) of Canada; 19 great grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one step great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by one brother, A.C. "Bud" Montgomery (Marilyn) of New Castle; sister-in-law Marguarite Montgomery of Lebanon; brother-in-law George Godbey (Lula Mae); and special friends, Bonnie Huff, Carroll Guard, Lois Oliver, and the Ladies of the Thursday Morning Bible Study.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Merle Godbey and Walter Shaul; brother Kenneth Montgomery; parents; daughters-in-law Rita and Lorene Godbey; and a great grandchild, Kailey Jones.

Kathleen was a graduate of Middletown High School, and a fifty year plus member of Pendleton Christian Church.

She was a homemaker. She was a former co-owner of Highlands Laundry, and had worked at Oliver Laundry and for the Pendleton Schools.
