Arlene Faye Baxa, daughter of Richard and Frances (Trecek) Houdek and step-daughter of Stanley Baxa, was born on September 25, 1930 in Hebron, NE and died January 3, 2007 at the Long Term Care Facility in Belleville.

She attended Cuba public schools and graduated from Cuba High School in 1948. She earned a teaching certificate from Lindsborg College and worked as a substitute teacher for several years. On June 5, 1949, she married William R. Baxa in Cuba and to this union three children were born. They farmed east of Cuba for many years where she assisted with the family farm and worked at the Cuba Cash Store. She was hired by the Cuba Post Office in 1963 and in 1975 she was appointed Postmaster, Cuba, Kansas. She retired in 1998.

She was a member of the Cuba Presbyterian Church, and worked at the food stand for the Harvest Festival and the Cuba Rock-A-Thon and many other activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents and he infant daughter, Constance Faye.

She is survived by her husband; her sons, Terence Baxa and Barry Baxa; one grandson, Bryon Revell; step-brother, Dale Baxa of Republic; step-sister, Vera Corp of Tulsa, OK, other relatives and friends.

Services were held on January ?, at the Presbyterian Church in Cuba with Reverend Sally White officiating. A family inurnment services will be at a later date.

Inurnment services, for both William and Arlene will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019.
