Milo Quast, age 88, of Gaylord passed away Monday, January 30, 2017, at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord.
Funeral Service will be Friday, February 3, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with interment in the church cemetery. Military Honors by the Manthey-Asmus American Legion Post #433 in Gaylord.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 2, 2017, from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Milo William Quast was born on October 16, 1928, at home in Arlington, Minnesota. He was the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Brochoff) Quast. Milo was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. He received his education at country school District #15, rural Arlington.
On April 13, 1951, Milo entered active military service and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Milo was Honorably Discharged on April 10, 1953.
On January 23, 1954, Milo was united in marriage to Viola Otto at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. After their marriage the couple farmed in Dryden Township. He was also employed as a mechanic at Big Stone in Arlington for many years, retiring in 1993. Milo and Viola were blessed with four children and they shared 63 years of marriage.
Milo was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord and served on the church council.
Milo enjoyed going to parades, fishing, gardening, woodworking, fixing things and spending time with his friends and relatives in Green Isle at Bulah’s Bar. He cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
When he needed assistance with his daily care Milo became a resident of Oak Terrace Health Care Center on November 8, 2016, and passed away there on Monday, January 30, 2017, at the age of 88 years.

Deborah Draeger and her husband, Brian of Stewart, MN, Brian Quast and his wife, Rosy of Gaylord, MN, and Sandra Miller and her husband, Sam of Winthrop, MN; Grandchildren, Traci Dummer and her husband, Willie, Dawn Kratzke and her husband, Paul, Travis Quast and his wife, Angie, Troy Quast and his wife, Nicole, Corey Draeger and his wife, Anna, Stacey Bipes and her husband, Nathan, Chad Draeger, Darrin Quast and his wife, Kelly, Wade Quast and his wife, Erin, Tara Quast, Russell Miller and his wife, Amanda, Candice Link, Laura Miller, Amanda Forst and her husband, Kenny, and Roxi Bode and her husband, Brandon;Sister, Vera Hahn and her husband, Herman of Gaylord, MN; Sister-In-Law, Helen Quast of Arlington, MN; Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Milo was preceded in death by his Parents, Edward and Elizabeth Quast; Siblings, Lyle Quast, Edna (Albert) Bentz, Bernice (Harold) Rose, Evelyn (Martin) Rose, a Brother and two Sisters in Infancy; Granddaughter, Tanya Draeger.
