Leavenworth Times LEATHA BURNS Leatha J Burns, Leavenworth, died Friday May 27, 1994. She was 79.She was born Feb. 23, 1915, at Dennard,. the daughter of David and Ethel Fryman Evans. She retired from the Dwight D. Eisenhower, department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she worked as a dietitian. Survivors include seven sons, Jimmy Owens, Warren Owens and Larry Burns all of Leavenworth, Michael Burns, Weston, Mo., Melvin Owens, Kansas City, Kan., Laymond Owens, Edwardsville, and Ernest Whorton, Ft. Smith Ark.; two brothers, David Evans and Riley Evans, both of Visellis Calif., a sister Helen Cox., Visellis; and 10 grandchildren. Graveside services are pending and will be announced by the Davis Funeral Chapel.
