Andrew Luther Algire was born on 20 September 1845, in Hampstead, Carroll County, Maryland. He was the son of Joshua F C Algire and Harriet Crist. He married Mary Anna Fish on 29 December 1869, in Clark County, Ohio. They were the parents of six children. He lived in District 8, Carroll County, Maryland in 1860 and Springfield Township, Clark County, Ohio for about 21 years. He died on 8 November 1933, in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio at the age of 88, and was buried in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Clark County, Ohio.
