Martha was the daughter of John M. Forrest, an early judge in Yamhill County, Oregon and Anne Belle Rhea. She was the beloved wife of Nicholas Tarter Day.

She was the dear mother of Jessie Luella, Eva Viola, Gordon Forrest, Rose Belle, Annie Laura, and Fred.

FUNERAL OF MRS. DAY

The funeral of the late Mrs. N.T. Day, of Wilbur, whose sudden death was noted in Monday's Review, occurred from the Methodist Episcopal Church, in this city (Roseburg) Tuesday at 1 o'clock p.m., the pastor, Rev. Frank L. Moore, conducting the services. A large number of relatives and friends of the family were present and followed the remains of the deceased to their last resting place in the Masonic cemetery. Mrs. Day was a most estimable Christian lady, an early pioneer of Oregon, whose death will be sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. To the aged husband and children of the deceased the sympathy of the community is extended.

Martha A. Forrest was born April 25, 1844 in Platt County, Missouri, and died at Wilbur, Oregon, Sunday, Dec. 19, 1897. She was married to Nicholas T. Day, Oct. 25, 1859 in Dayton, Yamhill County, Oregon, by T.L. York. She has been a useful worker in the Methodist Episcopal Church for over 33 years.
