HENRY ROBERT PFLANZ

Henry Robert Pflanz went home to the Lord on May 12, 2005.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille, to whom he was happily married for 60 years; grandson Michael Pflanz; sisters Larene, Hazel, Elizabeth and Gladys; and brother Wilbur.

He is survived by children: Janice Mackey and husband Don of Lee's Summit, Bob Pflanz of the home, Carole Jennings and husband Chester of Kansas City, Jim Pflanz and wife Debbie of Kansas City; grandchildren Steve Mackey, David Mackey, Laura McCann, Deborah Pflanz, Beth White, Christina Dyer and Amy Phan; and 18 great grandchildren.

Dad was born in Wichita, KS, November 1, 1915, to Henry Max Carl Pflanz and Agnes Curran Pflanz. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from Wichita North High in 1933 (The Depression Class). He was married to Lucille Elsie White on June 1, 1936 in the Wichita Eagle June Wedding of the Year.

He was an accountant and office manager for General Baking Co. (Bond Bread) in Wichita and in Kansas City. He retired from Webb Belting Co. as company treasurer.

Dad was active in PTA for his children, and in first South Prospect and Trinity Methodist Churches in Kansas City. He was devoted to his family. He was greatly loved and will be missed by children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
