Dewey Vestal Carlton, age 91 of Carolina Avenue, formerly of Cotton Grove Road, Lexington passed way Monday morning January 30, 2017.



A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday February 1, 2017 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Revs. Frankie Matthews and Randy Hall officiating. There will be no public visitation.



Dewey was born in Davidson County July 21, 1925 to John Franklin Carlton and Jessie Victoria Hawkins Carlton. He was the retired/owner of Carltons Wholesale Auto Parts; a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church; a veteran of the US Marines having served in World War II and was an avid Atlanta Braves and ASU Fan and loved all sports He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Finley and Lewis Carlton.



Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Ruth Fritts Carlton of the home; daughters, Alma Carlton and Arlena Edwards (Maynard) all of Lexington; granddaughter, Callie Warren (Tony) and a great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Warren.
