Leon D. Benson, 65 yrs., of Narvon, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his home, while under the loving care of hospice and his family.
He was born in Chester on Oct. 5, 1951. Leon was the son of the late Louis A. and Barbara (Johnson) Benson.
He was the husband of Jill R. (Reade) Benson, with whom he shared 31 years of marriage.
Leon was a self-employed truck driver for 40 years. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and the F. & A. M. Howell Lodge # 405 of Honey Brook.
Leon was preceded in death by his son, Leon D. Benson, Jr.
He is survived in addition to his wife, by a daughter, Ashley C. (Glenn) Pike of Narvon, two brothers, Louis A. Benson, Jr. of Texas and Robert C. (Diane) Benson of West Chester. There are also two grandchildren, Adria Benson and Lennie Benson, Jr.
A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:30 AM from Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 753 Mt. Zion Road, Narvon, Pa. 17555, with Pastor Keith Blackwell officiating. Interment will follow at the adjoining cemetery. A Viewing will be held on Saturday from 9 to 11 AM at the church. A Masonic service will follow at 11:15AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Leon to Mt. Zion UMC at the above address or the F. & A. M. Howell Lodge # 405, 1505 Walnut Road, Honey Brook, Pa. 19344.
