Clifton worked with his father Mack Leroy and brother's Harley and Collins, digging water wells in Grimes and Walker County, Texas. Some of the wells are still in the area today. He worked as a milkman, painter, truck driver, and concrete mixer driver for Parker Brothers with his brother Collins, selling eggs and shipping docks at the Port of Houston, Todd's Ship Yard.

Clifton N. Morris, 73, a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years died Thursday, November 18, 1993 he is survived by his son Clifton H. Morris and Lawrence N. Morris and wife Glenda J., all of Albuquerque; daughters Carolyn F. Lange and Shirley Davis of Houston, Texas. Granddaughters Sarahann M. Lange and Mary Jane Morris both of Houston, Texas and nephews Alvie Mitchell and Edward Mitchell both of Orange County California. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his wife Sarah E. Morris his parents four brothers and three sisters. He served in the south Pacific during World War II. Mr. Morris was a member of the Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Grave side service will be Monday 10:30 A.M. at the National Cemetery Santa Fe, New Mexico with Lynn Huff officially interment will follow. In Lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, 5700 Winter Heaven Rd. Northwest 87120, French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. North East.
