Born June 1, 1963, in Winter Haven, Florida, he was the son of Dr. Wiley & Clovis Koon. He graduated from Winter Haven High School, and received a BA and Masters in Informational Sciences at USF. He also graduated from Joffrey Ballet Dance Company in NYC & was a member of the Tampa Ballet. Mr. Koon took great pride in winning scholarship award at Dottie Taylor School of Dance. He was carrier of the month at the News Chief, and was a member of Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He was into Genealogy and had a fondness for 'Gone with the Wind.' He was an active historian, loved classical music and served as director of Tampa Tech Library, and worked with accreditation of private schools.
Mr. Koon is survived by his parents Dr. Wiley & Sara Koon of Winter Haven; his adopted mother Brenda B. Bartholomew of Lakeland; sister Anne E. Koon, Winter Haven; brothers Dr. James E. Koon, Richard E. Koon, both of Winter Haven; stepbrother Alfred T. Massam, Winter Haven.
