GORHAM - George Hall Dachowski, 76,of Gorham, died peacefully with daughter Lisa and son-in-law Dan, in the comfort of his home on Saturday, January 21, 2017.

George was born the sixth of eight children of John and Helen (Hall) Dachowski on January 12, 1941. He grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire where he attended Bishop Bradley, and in turn, Central High School.

Upon graduation, he entered the Air Force and honorably served his country for four years.

On March 3, 1962, he married Beverly (Farley). Together, they raised their children, Michael, Lisa and Tami-Ann and in 1974, they moved to Gorham, Maine.

George worked for AAA for many years, and subsequently for Cruises Only, specializing in Sales.

George was a skilled baseball player, as a pitcher, he was well known for his 96 mph fastball. His passion for baseball led him and his brother Bobby, to create a game called "Screenball", which has been passed down to the younger generations of the family. He was a passionate Red Sox fan and missed only one Patriots game since their origin. Above all, George's favorite past times included family gatherings, a hardcore love of music (classic rock) and spending time on his back deck, which he referred to as "George's tiki bar".

George is survived by his daughter, Lisa, and her husband, Dan Roy, of Buxton; siblings, Jean Preston of Ossipee, NH, Bobby Dachowski and his wife Claire, of Hooksett, NH, Carol Bell, of Machester, NH, Mary White of Hooksett, NH, and Margie Leutweiller of MA; grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Nick, Drew, Aidan, Matt, Troy, Sydney, Andrea and Morgan; and great-grandchildren, Peyton, Owen, Carter, Colton, Whalen, Thunder and Ella.
