Don Orne, 83, of Eau Claire, died on Friday, October 10, 2014, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Don was born on May 4, 1931, in Durand, WI, to Herman and Annie Orne. He attended school in Pepin. He worked for UW Eau Claire for 24 years. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, camping, and fishing.

Don is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty; two sons, Ross Orne of Madison and Ryan (Barb) Orne of Rice Lake; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, Wilbur (Carol) Orne of Pepin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lucretia Trulson.

Funeral Service will be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at the WEST CHAPEL of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire with Pastor Michael Wollman officiating. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
