Minnie (Moss) Hatch is finally dancing the two-step with her loving and gentle companion, Bud. Minnie passed away peacefully at the age of 89, surrounded by family on January 22, 2017 in Woods Cross, Utah. She was a precious and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Just recently, in one of her more lucid moments, she said, “Grandma is the best thing I’ve ever been called.”

Minnie was born on January 4, 1928 in Bountiful, Utah, daughter of David Arnold and Ruth Sarah Eaton Moss. She told many adventurous stories from her childhood with her sister Mary, and brother Howard. Bringing her horse in the house, being shot by her brother with a BB gun and double dating with her sister were just some of the escapades. Minnie graduated from Davis High School, Kaysville, Utah in 1946.

Minnie married the love of her life, Calvin R (Bud) Hatch on August 3, 1952. They built their home in Bountiful where they raised six children, two boys, four girls. Being a ‘stay at home mom,’ Minnie molded her children to be loving, strong and caring, leaving behind a beautiful legacy. Minnie loved going camping and boating with her family. She was always up for new experiences. In her later years, Minnie wanted every day to be a party. She and Bud were members of the Bountiful Elks Lodge. She loved her weekly bingo and pinochle games.

Preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sister, Mary, and brother-in-law, Lee Dugdale; brothe, David Howard and sister-in-law, Sue Moss.

Survived by children: David (Cindy) Barber, Ann (John) Strickland, Helen (Mark) Meier, Ruth (Penny) Hatch, Christy Wisemen, Ray (Melanie) Hatch; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah. Viewings will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Russon Brothers, Bountiful from 6:00-8:00 pm and on Friday from 9:45-10:45 am, prior to the funeral.
