Interestingly, Francis' gravestone reads that he died in 1899. However, the Marietta Journal, dated July 1900, states that he was laid to rest on July 22, 1900. Rev. James Newton Sullivan, who was the grandfather of his daughter, Louvenia Boring Sullivan's husband, Benjamin Asbury Joseph Sullivan, officiated at Francis Allen Boring's funeral.

Francis was commissioned as "good Templarism" in 1875 #427 (Atlanta Constitution, 1875).
