"Ray Bryant of Spartansburg, age 48 years, passed away at the Cleveland clinic, Monday evening at 9 o'clock, following a lingering illness. He submitted to an operation at the clinic Saturday. He was a veteran of the World War and is survived by one son, B D Bryant, of Spartansburg, and one daughter, Mrs Naomi Chestnut of New Jersey and two grandchildren. The following brother and sisters [also survive]: Adrian Bryant of Fredericksburg, Md, Mrs Mabel Hadlock of Union City, and Mrs Maud Still of Spartansburg. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev T P Kelly at the Spartansburg Baptist church, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery."
