Robert R. Aceto Sr., 81, residing in Norwalk, passed away Tuesday evening, January 17, 2017 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after a brief illness.

Robert was born on June 11, 1935 in Boston, MA to the late Antonio and Emma (Santiello) Aceto.

Robert was a 1953 graduate from the Christopher Columbus Catholic High School in Boston, MA. He was a Veteran of the Marines who proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1956. He was retired as a truck driver from Branch Motor Express. Robert was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, the Amvets Post 17 and the Teamsters Local 20 in Toledo. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards with friends, watching westerns and musicals.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Edgar) Perez of Sacramento, CA and Margaret (Michael) Barnett of Colorado Springs, CO; sons, Robert Jr. and Michael (Darlene) Aceto both of Colorado Springs, CO; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Anthony Aceto of Hoffman Estates, IL; sisters-in-law, Pat Aceto of Sandusky, Lucia Aceto of Boston, MA and Joan Aceto of Shawburn, IL and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by wife, Dorothy "Peggy" (Conley) Aceto in 2001 and brothers, Rosario, George, Vincent and John Aceto.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:00 am at Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Rd., Huron. The Rev. Joe Steinbauer will officiate. The Groff Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
