Bernice Ann (Anhaiser) Chedester was born April 25, 1932 in Weimar, Texas to Ray Anhaiser and Annie Barton. She passed away on January 21, 2017 at her residence in Sugar Land, Texas. Bernice graduated from Sugar Land High School in 1950 where she was a member of the band and recipient of NSDAR Good Citizen Award as a senior. Throughout her career, Bernice was a secretary for George Strake, Sr. of Houston and Sugar Industry Technologists, as well as an office manager at Eagle Surveying. Bernice married William G. Chedester in 1955.

Survivors include her children, Camilla Chedester of Sugar Land and Michael Chedester and wife, Becky of Porter, Texas; grandson, Jason Chedester and wife, Courtney of Austin; great grandchild, Madeleine Chedester of Austin; brother, Leon Anhaiser and wife, Bettye of Sugar Land; sister-in-law, Velma Anhaiser of Sugar Land; aunt, Sr. Dorothy Anhaiser of Corpus Christi; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Bernice is preceded in death by her brothers, Ray and Leonard Anhaiser; sisters-in-law, Delia Anhaiser and Arliene Stone; and grandson, Ryan Chedester.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with Rosary and wake service at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond, Texas with Fr. Michael Nguyen officiating. A graveside service will be held that afternoon at 3:00 p.m., at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church - Faith Formation Department.
