Mr. Higginbotham was born in Riverton and had been a resident of Springfield for the last 40 years.
He resided at the Morgan avenue address for the last 14 years.
Mr. Higginbotham, a retired coal miner who formerly worked at the old "Do-Little" mine off Laurel street, is survived by three stepdaughters, Mrs. Lela Blissett, Springfield; Mrs. Hazel Schellinger, Hammond, Ind.; and Mrs. Ruth Harbour, Springfield; three stepsons, Johnny Ritz, Dodd Ritz and Chester Ritz, all of Springfield; a half-brother, John Hornbacher, Springfield.
Funeral services were held at the Vancil funeral home.
Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.
