Florida / Highland, IN. - Michael Edmond Alonzo, 35, of Fruitland Park, Florida, formerly of Highland, Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 7, 1997.Survived by his wife, Linda; one daughter, Chelsea; parents, Albert and Barbara Alonzo of Highland;one brother, Phillip Wayne (Joanne) Alonzo of Dyer; one sister, Kathleen Ann(Daniel) Lunsford Alonzo of Griffith; three nephews, Alec, Michael and Austin;three nieces, Kelsie, Alysha and Ashlin; parents-in-law, Jim and Mary Smithson of Fairmont, Indiana; brother-in-law, Danny Smithson of Indiana;nsisters-in-law, Ginger (Jerry) McNamee, Tami (Tony) Southard and Ramona (Richard) Arnold, all of Indiana.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 13, 1997, 10 a. m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Francis Lazar officiating. Burial at Concordia Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Tuesday 4 to 8 p. m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (2 blks south of Ridge Road), Highland.Mr. Alonzo was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Fruitland Park, Florida; member of I. B. E. W. Local 606 of Orlando, Florida; veteran of U. S. Marines; member of American Legion Post in Fairmont, IN; graduate of Highland High School, Class of 1980; employed by Grimes Airospace. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Heart Association. American Legion Post #66 will hold military honors at the cemetery
