Wilma born on February 16, 1926, on a farm northwest of St. Benedict; one of nine children of Henry and Josephine Vondenkamp Bergman. Wilma attended St. Mary’s School in St. Benedict, Kansas and graduated in 1944.

As a young woman, she went to work in Topeka. On June 3, 1946, she married Lester Hunninghake at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Benedict, Kansas. The couple made their home on a farm northwest of Baileyville; where they had a dairy and raised various crops. The couple moved to Seneca in August of 2012. She was also employed at the Apple Market where she was the manager of the bakery. She also enjoyed the years she volunteered at the Sts. Peter and Paul Mission Center in Seneca.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Wilma was very active in the church, as chair of the quilting committee, on the church choir and as an Eucharistic minister. She was actively involved in the implementation of the senior lunch program.
