She was born October 31, 1926 in Cutler, Illinois the youngest child of George Byrd and Nettie (Wilson) McClure Byrd.
Ms. Byrd retired from Gilster Mary Lee Corp and was a life long member of the First Baptist Church in Cutler, Illinois.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Arthur McClure, George Lyle Byrd, and Edward Dale Byrd; sisters Goldie Jeremiah, Leila Behnken, Edith Fern Minton, Geneva Byrd, Gene Dunn, and Bonnie L. Byrd.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 5, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Cutler, Illinois. Rev. Wesley Henson and Rev. Blu Berner will be officiating. Burial will be at Cutler Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Thursday from 6-8 PM and then on Friday from 7:30 am until 9am then from 10 to 11am at the church.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Cutler.
