Miles Oran Cantrall, 76, whose home was at 606 Myrtle St., died at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in Sturgis Hospital where he had been admitted on June 20. He had been a Sturgis resident for the past 55 years after having moved here from Red Key, Ind.
He was born at Red Key July 6, 1895, a son of Joseph and Rosella (Hastings) Cantrall. He had married to Ola Life who preceded him in death in 1955. Mr. Cantrall was a veteran of World War I and had served 18 months overseas. He had been an employee with the A.H. perfect Co. for 20 years and was last employed with Ross Laboratories for 10 years, before retiring.
He was a member of the Red Key United Brethren Church and had attend the First United Methodist in Sturgis.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Ann Sherman of Sturgis; one granddaughter, Mrs. Ronald (Lana) Sturgis; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Earl and Delbert Cantrall both of Red Key; Gerald of Muncie, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Nina Brooks of Parker, Ind., and Mrs. Elizabeth Shatto of Glendale, Calif., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation may be made at the Foglesong Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Hilding Kilgren, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
