Donald R. Fruits, 60, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976, died Monday, September 24, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Ann Fruits of Albuquerque; daughters, Kari Castillo and husband, Bill of Albuquerque and Kathi Murzyn and husband, Jay of St. Paul, MN; son, Khris Fruits of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Aubrey Jimenez; grandsons, Sterling Castillo, Everson and Elliot Murzyn; brother, Lee Fruits of Washington; sister, Nola Botkin of Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews; and other family members. Mr. Fruits retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service to his country. He then worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years. Mr. Fruits was a faithful servant of God and a member of the Northeast church of Christ. Services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2001, at 11:00 a.m., at the Northeast church of Christ, 11000 Paseo Del Norte NE, with John Phillis officiating. Interment will take place Friday, September 28, 2001, at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may view Thursday, September 27, 2001, at the Northeast Church of Christ, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at which time the casket will be closed. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
