It is with sadness that the Keiter family reports the passing of Lila Jean Keiter on January 14th, 2017. She was 91 years old and went peacefully following quite a full life.

Born Lila Jean Hammerslough to Louis and Leah Hammerslough on June 30, 1925 in Keyport Washington. She's a graduate of the University of Washington. Lila married Les Keiter (1919-2009) on September 9,1948.

Journeying from Modesto, California to, Honolulu, San Francisco, New York City, Philadelphia, and back to Hawaii following Les's sportscasting career. During their marriage they had 5 children in 3 pregnancies, surprised by twins twice.

While Les was sportscasting, Lila created 2 successful businesses. One customizing homemade birthday cakes for college students in Philadelphia and the other creating hand painted needlepoint canvasses of Hawaiian Designs selling throughout the Hawaiian Islands.

Lila is survived by her older brother Herbert Hammerslough and their 5 children Rick Keiter, Marty Keiter, Barbara Keiter, Jodi Keiter-Feinstein, and Cindy Keiter. Also 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family is having a private service in Kona, Hawaii.
