Vito Alacqua passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in Johns Creek, GA. He was 97 years old.

He was married to Theresa Alacqua (Miserendino) of Westville Grove, NJ, from 1952 until her passing in 1998.

Vito is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Elaine Alacqua; grandchildren, Leigh Ann Alacqua and Ross Alacqua (wife Sinclair), and baby great-granddaughter, Aria, all of Alpharetta, GA; his youngest sister, Millie Alacqua of Glassboro, NJ, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Glassboro, NJ, Vito was one of seven children. He excelled at sports and served in the US Army during World War II. Over the years Vito and Theresa devoted themselves to work and family and in 1983 they moved to the Atlanta area to be close to their son and pursue their true calling in life: being grandparents to Ross and Leigh Ann. Vito was an active, loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM in MATHIS FUNERAL HOME, 43 N. Delsea Drive, Glassboro, NJ, where friends may visit with the family after 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
