Nancy Ann Barry was the daughter of Archibald Wright and Mary Doss Peterson Wright. She married William L. Cates on January 30, 1866 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi. One child came from this union, Samuel A. Cates. William Cates died between 1866-1870.
Nancy Ann Wright married second to Andrew Moore Barry on May 24, 1870 in Robertson County, TN. Seven children came from this marriage including the following: Archibald "Archie" Wright Barry, Josiah Edward Barry, Lucius John Barry, and Lena Borrum Barry Pendergrass.
