Carl William Kirks, Sr., 91, passed away December 7, 2015, at Morehead Nursing Center in Eden. He was born September 25, 1924 in Rockingham County, to William Henry Kirks and Martha Frasier Kirks. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Draper and a retiree of Murphy & Mabe's Plumbing Company.
He is survived by his children, Brenda K. Nolen (Kenneth), Carl William Kirks, Jr (Hope), Wesley Paul Kirks (Dianne) and Martha Kirks Hankins; seven grandchildren; brother, J. E. Kirks; sister, Muriel Kirks Calhoun. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Law Kirks; brothers, Richard, Ralph and Wallace Kirks; sister, Barbara Scearce.
Burial will be in Danview Cemetery.
