Evelyn Mauldin Brantley died Jan. 8, 2005 in Kingsland, Texas. She was born May 16, 1910 in Martindale, Caldwell County.

On May 30, 1932 she and Harold Brantley had a double wedding with good friends Marlin Gunn and Lucille Deviney. Evelyn and Harold were married more than 67 years.

Evelyn and Harold had two sons, Harold C., Jr. and Milam. After living in Sinton they moved to LaPryor for 21 years where Harold was superintendent of schools and Evelyn taught. They were also in the school systems of Pearsall and United Consolidated of Laredo where they retired in 1970. After retiring they moved to Wimberley for 24 years, Fredericksburg for three and San Marcos for five years. Both Harold and Evelyn went into each community eager to do their part and made many good friends along the way.

She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, The Order of Eastern Star, and Chapel in the Hills church in Wimberley.

Evelyn was preceded in death by husband, Harold, her parents, Willis and Letitia Mauldin, three sisters, Elizabeth Mauldin, Linnie Deviney, and Nellie Ruth Tillman, and two brothers, John Mauldin and F.M. (Mo) Mauldin.

She is survived by her sons, H.C. and wife, Kay, Milam and wife, Bea, grandchildren, Karen Angevine and husband, Doug, Rev. Clay Brantley and wife, Crysta, Rev. Kristine Brantley-Gearhart and husband, Rev. Mark Brantley-Gearhart, Dr. Milam Brantley Jr. and wife, Barbara and nine great grandchildren.
