Dean Marsh, 93, Emporia, Kansas, died Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at his home.
He was born July 7, 1913, in Chanute, Kansas, to Grace E. McCaslin and Royal Bertrum Marsh.
Marsh was a 1932 graduate of Chanute High School.
He entered the military in 1943 where he was in five major campaigns in the European Theater during World War II. He was discharged from the U.S. Army in 1945.
He retired on Sept. 18, 1980 after 35 years of employment with Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews, and two cousins.
Funeral will be Aug. 26, 2006 at the First Christian Church in Emporia, KS, under the direction of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. Military honors will be provided by Emporia Masonic Lodge No. 12 A.F. & A.M., Ball-McColm Post No. 5 American Legion, and Lowry-Funston Post No. 1980 VFW. Interment will follow at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, Kansas.
Contributions may be made to the Mini-T Unit, First Christian Church Building Fund, or the Shrine Hospital in care of the funeral home, 605 State St., Emporia, KS 66801.
