She was born July 10, 1931, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Archie and Daisy (Johnson) Adams. She married Clarence L. Harnist on Oct. 28, 1950, at the First Christian Church in Ashtabula.
She was an active member of the East Plymouth Grange. She enjoyed ceramics and playing the organ. She and her husband loved living in Florida during their retirement years.
Surviving her are two sons, Terry L. (Jean) Harnist of Andover, and Gary Harnist of Ashtabula; brother, Archie Adams of Ashtabula; and granddaughter, Janette (Daniel) Decker of Pierpont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2013; and by two sisters, Beverly Adams in 1944, and Myrtle Riedel in 1989.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19th, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND CREMATORY, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, with Alisa Nierzejewski, Certified Celebrant, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
Calling Hours will be Wednesday, Jan. 18th, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
