Phineas Abbe, who has resided in this town nearly fifty years, died at his residence near Stanwix last Saturday evening, in the 72nd year of his age. He has always been an active business man, following farming, and at the same time for many years keeping a canal grocery. He was a director in the Central National Bank of Rome, and was much esteemed by his associates and all who knew him. His last sickness was only of a weeks duration, and his death was as unexpected as sudden. He leaves a widow and three sons, George, Elisha and William. His associates of the Central national Bank, last Monday, adopted resolutions of respect which we publish elsewhere.
