Vera Louise Rehermann, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully January 10, 2017 at the age of 86. Vera was born in Schell City, Missouri to the late Wade and Cora Hicks. She relocated west to Live Oak, CA with her family at the young age of 13 where she lived for Three years before returning to MO with her family. At 18 years old, she returned to Live Oak where she met Werner Rehermann and they became inseparable, having one daughter, Brenda, in 1951. Vera worked in the farms picking peaches while also volunteering at Luther Elementary School, and then later working for the Sutter County Welfare Dept for 10 years until her retirement. She was a Live Oak resident for the last 68 years having lived the majority in the home she and Werner built together. She loved her family, flowers, doing yard work, caring for her cats, a 5 o’clock highball, collectibles, Avon, a good yard sale, flea market shopping, and would never pass on a good bargain or dessert.

Vera’s memory will forever be treasured by her siblings Maxine Filter, Dorothy Curtis, and Shirley Hunziker (Louis), Richard Hicks (Lorene), her grandchildren Jennifer Bates (Arturo Reyes) and Michael Bates (Amy) and her great-grandchild Owen Reyes and step great-grandchild Annamarie Reyes. Her husband (Werner) and daughter (Brenda), whom she is reuniting with in heaven, preceded Vera in death.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Vera has touched are invited to attend a graveside service at the Live Oak Cemetery on Tuesday, January 17, at 10am with reception to follow at Maxine Filter’s residence: 1857 Encinal Rd, Live Oak, CA 95953.
