Marty was born on December 26, 1937 in Jennings KS to Darrell and Carol Tacha. He joined the Navy in 1956 and served 7 years. He married Clauda Borchers on November 6, 1966 in Meade KS. The couple lived in Meade where they were blessed with 6 children.
Marty worked for Garvey Oil Company, Eads Inc., and retired in 1997 from Meade County Sheriff Department. He was an avid gardener, reader, collector and fisherman. He had a love for camping, animals and was the president of the “gray beard society” at the local gun shop. Marty is survived by his wife Clauda Tacha, mother Carol (Hager) Tacha, brother Melvin (Juanita) Tacha, sister Sherry (Bud) Doerflinger, daughters Ginger Rupp of Dodge City KS; Doreen Kinderknecht of Meade; Tishsa (Matt) Strickler of Eureka KS; Charlee (Michael) Webb of Iwakuni, Japan and son Lester (Crista) Tacha of Meade. Grandchildren Justin (Angie) Helus, Savannah Rupp, Laci (Trevis) Vanderpool, Amber Rhinehart, Kerri Eback, Ted Rhinehart, Travis Reuter, Brock Springer, Marissa Strickler, Tyler Strickler, Noah Neel, Cole Strickler, Addison Tacha, Ava Tacha and Ryan Webb. Great-grandchildren Elsie Helus, Vera Helus, Oliver Reuter, Adleigh Ray, Aubree Vanderpool. Pets Oreo & George.
He is preceded in death by his father Darrell Tacha and daughter Debbie Rhinehart and about 10 other dogs.
A funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church in Meade at 11 a.m. Rev. Lynn Spencer will officiate the ceremony. There will be no graveside services. All are welcome to attend.
Memorials may be sent to Fowler State Bank to be divided up between Friends of Meade State Lake and St. John Lutheran Church.
