Carl Alexander Croushorn, 89, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville. He was born on May 17, 1927, a son of the late Ashby William and Ethel (Thompson) Croushorn.

Carl was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Wayne-Tex. He was a member of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 340. He was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and greeter at the Waynesboro Wal-Mart. He was a faithful Waynesboro Generals' fan who never missed a game.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Croushorn; daughters, Molly Hodge and husband, Randal, and Nancy Croushorn of Waynesboro; granddaughter, Emma Hodge; as well as numerous cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Ryan Schaeffer officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 340.

Active pallbearers will be Lyle Fitzgerald, Lewis Gurkin, Andy Purcell, Joe Moyer, Randal Hodge and Gary Wright.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and American Legion Post 340.

There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church, 701 Highland Ave., Waynesboro, Virginia 22980.
