Alta Catherine Bagwell, age 92, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Mrs. Bagwell was born on November 1, 1924, to the late Denester N. “Pete” and Lillian Cecil Dempsey Holbrook. Catherine was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church in Cumming, Georgia. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who enjoyed writing inspirational poems. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Haldene Bagwell; brothers, Cleveland and Jere Holbrook; and sister, Mildred Barron.
She is survived by one son, two daughters, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 15, 2017, at the Brookwood Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bennett, Rev. Doug Carnes, and Rev. Donnie Nix officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
