Peggy S. Cline, 87, of Wilmington, formerly of Hickory, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at The Davis Community in Wilmington.
Mrs. Cline was born March 6, 1929 in Catawba County to the late Hettie Mae Whitener Simpson and Henry Forest Simpson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arvin Ray Cline.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and was retired from First Union Bank which was formerly First National Bank of Catawba County.
Survivors include two sons: Steven Ray Cline of Wilmington, NC and Gary Scott Cline and wife Lara Michelle Printz of Kailua-Kona, HI; four granddaughters: Keaton Rae Cline and Stevey Ann Cline both of Wilmington, NC, Jourdan Merideth Chapman of Erie, PA and Jessica Lynn Young of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Barbara Simpson Warren of Hickory, NC; a grandson, Justin Ryan Smith of Gastonia, NC; a great-grandson, Caison Ray Gilleece of Wilmington, NC; and two sisters-in-law: Martha Simpson of Hickory, NC and Margie Isenhour of Hickory, NC.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery with the Rev. Vicar Vern Kinard officiating. The family will receive friends following in the church Parish Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of America, 4600 Park Rd., Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
