DeAnna Jane "De" Allers, age 71, of Big Rapids passed away on November 21, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 4, 1943 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Woodrow L. and Helen (Shinel) Luckey. De grew up in Traverse City, then graduated from Vista Maria High School in Dearborn. She met her future husband, Frank Allers, in 1965 at her cousin's wedding. They married on January 8, 1966.

She was very involved with the Eagles State youth group, serving as a counselor and cool at summer camps. De worked as a waitress at Bowers Restaurant and later at East Gate Lanes. For the last six years, she volunteered at the Crossroads Charter Academy concession stand at sporting events, where she was affectionately known as "Grandma" to the students and "Momma De" and their parents.

In 1999, DeAnna was given the "Home Town Hero" award by the Mecosta County Convention and Visitors Bureau for her work with organizing bowling tournaments. She enjoyed camping, dancing and helping others, especially children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jerry and Mike; and one grandson, BJ.
