Clyde was born in Rural Camp County to James Lester and Rosa Catherine Carpenter on October 17, 1927 and he passed away on January 10, 2017 in Gilmer surrounded by his loving family.

Clyde was a loving and supportive husband, wonderful father, always lending a loving hand. Clyde could fix anything. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and even yard work. Mr. Carpenter loved the Cowboys, The Buckeyes, old westerns, Wheel of Fortune, he enjoyed going to Walmart to visit with friends there.

He retired from Lone Star Steel as a Warehouse Receiving Clerk.

Interment will be at Gilmer City Cemetery under the direction of McWhorter Funeral Home.
