Age 52, the son of the late Cyrus and Thelma Bauschard Oberlander. Brian was a graduate of Twin Tech High School. After high school, he served with the U.S. Army paratroopers as a staff sergeant. He fought during the Persian Gulf War. Brian enjoyed fishing and bird watching. He was a fan of Penn State football and the Oakland Raiders. He was a member of American Legion, Post 11, Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 470 and the Disabled American Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Gary, David and Richard Oberlander.

Brian is survived by his wife of 34 years, Cassandra V. Cordray Oberlander, a daughter, Angelica N. Oberlander, a son, Brian S. Oberlander, II, all of Girard, and his siblings, Robert Oberlander, Janet Tarbosso and Judith McMaster and their families. He is also survived by many members of the Karpick family.

Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
