Funeral services for Ulysses Grant Cruise, 79, who died after a three-week’s illness at his home here last Friday, were held Saturday, with interment in the family plot. Father of 22 children by two wives, the deceased was a native of Patrick county, but moved to Henry county in 1914. His first wife, Virginia Exony Williams, preceded him to the grave 17 years ago. There were 13 children by this marriage. He is survived by his second wife, Mrs. Martha Burge Cruise, and the following children: Mrs. M. T. Sayars, Stuart; Mrs. J. F. Pratt, Spencer; Mrs. Velt Marshall and T. J. Cruise, Caretta, W. Va.; Pete Cruise, Clinchco (sic); Mrs. R. L. Joyce, Miss Zina Cruise, Russell and David Cruise of Price, N.C.
