A private funeral service was held today at 2 p.m. in the Postle-Hale Funeral Home for Archie Baker, 75, 601 W. Third St. The Rev Edgar Wollam officiated and interment was in Oakdale Cemetery.
Mr. Baker died in Memorial Hospital Friday and had been ill for several years. He was retired from O. M. Scott and Sons and a member of the Springdale Baptist Church.
Bon Mar. 11, 1898 in Champaign County to William and Clara (Baker) Baker he lived most of his life in Union County and was married to Esther (Herd) who survives.
He is also survived by one brother, Ross, of Irwin.
