Bonnie Lou Asbury, 67, of Six Mile died peacefully at her home on January 9, 2017 after a long battle with ALS. Bonnie was born December 10, 1949, in Hamlin, WV.

She was the daughter of the late Junior and Madeline Tabor.
Bonnie enjoyed crafts, gardening, and candle making. Stricken with polio as a child, she lived life to the fullest, never letting her physical limitations hold her back. Her resilience and determination was an inspiration to many. Bonnie was a devoted mother and wife. She was a graduate of Scott High School in Madison, WV. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Arlie and brother Ralph Tabor. She is survived by her son Arlie (Brenda) Asbury of Hewett, sister Connie VanHoose of Wytheville, VA, and three grandchildren.

The family wishes to graciously thank those who were involved in Bonnie’s care: Dr. Atkins and the staff of Madison Medical, the nurses and staff of Boone Memorial Home Care, Vickie Powell of Kanawha Hospice Palliative Care, the staff of All Med and Care Point Partners.

The family would also like to express its everlasting gratitude to Gayle Chandler. Her efforts in Bonnie’s time of need can never be repaid.

A short graveside service will be held at 12 p.m.Thursday, January 12th at Boone Memorial Park in Madison, WV with the Rev. Roger McCauley officiating.
