Mrs. Iva Dean Royal Wood, age 86, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016.
Mrs. Wood was born December 20, 1929 in Alleghany County to Nathan and Mary Brown Royal.
Mrs. Wood was a member of Liberty Knob Baptist Church and a
homemaker, farmer and seamstress.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Philip Wood.
Survivors include: Boyd H. Wood of the home; sons, Dean Wood and his wife Linda of State Road and Mark Wood and his wife Regina of State Road; daughters, Mary Etta Shores and her husband Micheal of State Road; Karen Lloyd and her husband Frank of Thurmond and Lou Jane Shores and her husband
Phillip of Thurmond; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Vena Sprinkle and Sue Robins.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Wayne Overcash, Rev. Travis Lloyd and Rev. Tony White officiating.
Burial will follow in Liberty Knob Baptist
Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 126 Executive Drive, Suite 120, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
