She moved with her family to Midland in 1920. She graduated from Midland High School in the Class of 1933. She married R.C. "Bob" Baker on September 26, 1937. They were married for 37 years.
Bessie retired from Midland National Bank in 1981 after 19 years. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Lions Club Auxiliary, and was a lifetime member of the Texas PTA. She was involved in the First United Methodist Church of Midland where she helped start the Buddy Woods Sunday School class in the early 1950s.
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Zilpha Dale; husband, Bob; siblings, Mable Dale Killough, Nellie Dale Roberson, Mamie Dale Smith, and Frank Marshal Dale; and great-grandson, Nathan Robertson. She was survived by her son, two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and other close family members.
