Obit: Loye Halsey, 95, of Mouth of Wilson, Va., passed away Friday, March 20, 2015, at Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Independence, Va. He was born June 26, 1919 to Paul and Vergie Anderson Halsey.
He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Vergie Halsey; sister, Mary Rutherford; infant sister; and his wife, Wylda Kiser Halsey.
Survivors include a daughter, Evalynn Halsey of Mouth of Wilson; son, Max Halsey of Wellston (Wellsburg?), W.Va.; two brothers and spouses, J. L. and Winnie Halsey of Speedwell and Bryan and Geneva Halsey of Independence; sister, Juanita Phipps of Elk Creek; brother-in-law and spouse, March and Laverne Kiser of Mouth of Wilson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015, at Little Wilson United Methodist Church, Volney, Va. The Rev. Becky Wheeler, Dwight Sells, the Rev. Bobby Cheeks and the Rev. Bill Shupe officiated.
