"Waterloo — Lydia Logan and her little brother Jean will be remembered as the sole survivors, in a family of six, of the dreadful Logan fire calamity at Waterloo. These children are
now living with their grandmother, Mrs. Diltz. Their uncle, George Donnally, the new postmaster of Waterloo, has been appointed as their guardian by the surrogate." (May 23, 1885, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle)
